Year 10 History students visited the Somme Heritage Centre in Newtownards as part of their course which includes the study of the First World War. This was an excellent opportunity for our students to bring to life the events they have been learning about in their History lessons. The students enjoyed an interactive walk-through tour of the museum, and were able to see what life was like for a soldier fighting during the War. They also had the opportunity to handle artefacts from the Battle of the Somme including weaponry, recruitment memorabilia and uniforms.
