Leisure, Travel & Tourism is an interesting course studied in Year 11 & 12

Exam Board: CCEA GCSE Leisure, Travel & Tourism

 

What is CCEA GCSE Leisure, Travel & Tourism?

 

This is a current and relevant subject which explores topics such as types of leisure and tourism, marketing, sustainable tourism and working within the leisure and tourism sector.

It is assessed over 3 units.
 

  • Unit 1 is an exam focusing on the important part that leisure, travel and tourism play in today’s society as it continues to be a growth area in the UK.  This is completed at the end of year 11 and worth 40%

  • Unit 2 is an exam focusing on how organisations use techniques and materials to promote their products and services.  This is completed at the end of year 12 and worth 40%

  • Unit 3 is a controlled assessment assignment carried out in class and worth 20%

 

 

We are delighted to welcome visiting speakers from within the Leisure, travel and tourism industry; pupils were given talks by Lisburn Leisureplex, an independent tour guide and the Game of Thrones Studio Tour.

 

Pupils also had the opportunity to visit the Christmas Market and the Lisburn Welcome Centre.
